Not your typical Masterpiece Theatre outing, this shorter entry features Robson Green (Reckless, Touching Evil) as a London tabloid writer named Liam Marple who dishes dirt under the catchy pseudonym “Mrs. Jones.” Assigned by his boss to attend a party at No. 10 Downing Street and scope out the lovely but aloof new prime minister (Caroline Goodall), Marple does even more. After dancing and flirting with her, he ends up having an affair with the married lady and then finds himself torn between his genuine love and the need to pen a juicy story. Although stretching credulity sometimes, this rather lighthearted romp offers up gentle political satire as well as enjoyable contemporary romance. Recommended. (T.
