Filmmaker Maria Sole Tognazzi's romantic comedy revolves around a divorcée who left her straight life behind after falling in love with another woman. Federica (Margherita Buy), an architect, and Marina (Sabrina Ferilli), a health food restaurateur, share a tasteful Rome apartment with a beautiful Bengal cat. Marina doesn't care if people know about their relationship, but Federica prefers to be discreet. Federica's son, Bernardo (Domenico Diele), says he's unfazed by the fact that his mother's been living with Marina for five years, but he still confides more in his father, Sergio (Ennio Fantastichini), who remarried and started another family with a younger woman. After a magazine runs a profile on Marina, a director offers her a part. While Marina returns to acting, Federica runs into Marco (Fausto Maria Sciarappa), a man with whom she once shared a mutual attraction. She tells him she's seeing someone, but when Marina leaves town for the weekend, Federica gives in to temptation—ultimately forcing a confrontation between the two women that leads to further ramifications. A solid relationship drama, this is recommended. (K. Fennessy)
