Antonio (Carmelo Gómez), an ETA terrorist undercover in Madrid, has his bombing agenda disrupted by a growing attraction to his beautiful but aimless neighbor Charo (the pouty Ruth Gabriel). After a botched diversionary 'warm-up' detonation, Charo, as well as the rest of Spain, discovers Antonio's true identity, and he's forced to choose between his duty and the booty, with expected tragic consequences. Fleshy newcomer Gabriel has an undeniable screen presence in this seamy tour through the underside of Madrid, and her and Gómez steam up quite a few windows in their scenes together, but this well-lensed 8 Goya award winner shot in '94 is just a B-movie all dressed up with no particular place to go. A weak optional purchase. (S. C. Sickles)
