Serving Sara

Matthew Perry is a process server assigned to drop divorce papers on sexy, unsuspecting trophy wife Elizabeth Hurley, who offers him a million bucks to turn the tables and serve her rich Texas husband instead. Serving Sara is a bad sketch-comedy road trip adventure that serves up dead-on-arrival set pieces (like the five minutes spent trapping Hurley in airport baggage machinery just so her clothes can rip for some ring-a-ding-ding) in an arduously unfunny comedy that is so inept from beginning to end that one doesn't know what to criticize first. The bumbling, double-take-dependent, "Look maw! I'm acting!"-quality performances that lack even a cartoonish level of credible humanity? The script that leans on lifeless, "Oh, yeah?!"-style repartee for its hypothetical laughs while failing to even adequately explain the movie's premise? The plot holes so large and obvious a marching band might as well be stomping through them in clown clothes, playing a college football fight song on untuned instruments? Easily one of the five worst films of 2002, this is not recommended.
