An aspiring filmmaker returns to Brooklyn to film a documentary about his old neighborhood and gets caught up in the search for the eponymous character. Lots of colorful names like Disco Bean, Joe Head and, of course, One-Eyed Jimmy, and quirky to beat the band, this has a certain misfit charm, but it is not nearly accomplished enough to overcome budgetary and artistic limitations. Minimal interest is sustained with cameo appearances by indie-film god Steve Buscemi, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Beals, Anne Meara and John Turturro. Not recommended. (K. Bottom line: a decent Blu-ray release of an unexceptional film.]
