In Warriors of Virtue, a 12-year-old boy journeys to a magical land where the heroes look like giant kangaroos, the villain looks like the lead singer from The Cure, and nothing makes a shred of sense. Though ostensibly a film for kids, Warriors of Virtue demonstrates little feel for the requirements of its audience. The plentiful battle scenes are so miserably filmed that all you can see are fuzzy, spinning blobs with tails kicking fuzzy, spinning blobs without tails, while the simple, feel-good morals are all buried under an unnecessarily convoluted plot. Impressive production design at least makes Warriors of Virtue interesting to look at, but that won't be enough to hold the attention of confused young viewers. Not recommended. (S. Renshaw)
