Wild Bill

This sunset western begins with a blaze of glory, reliving the exploits of William Hickok, before focusing on the gunslinger's last days in Deadwood, the sort of frontier town, someone observes, one might find in the Bible; "the part just before God gets really mad." Jeff Bridges, one of Hollywood's great unsung actors, is masterful as Wild Bill, with a whip-cracking Ellen Barkin as Calamity Jane. Shot blanks in theaters, but sure to hit its mark on home video.
