To a four year old, a bad firetruck movie is an oxymoron on the order of jumbo shrimp or military intelligence. I mean, throw in some lights and sirens, a couple of raging infernos, and some firefighters sliding down poles, and how can you miss? Well, this one did. It's not an exaggeration to say that at least six minutes of the video's 24 are taken up with rolling shots of a firetruck racing down the street at 15 miles an hour. Another three or four minutes show firefighters arriving at a burning building, unrolling their hoses, hooking them up to a hydrant, raising a ladder, unrolling more hoses, and all the while, the preschoolers around me are shouting "When are they going to put it out? Look, the fire's getting bigger!" Your best bet is to skip this one and get Fire Busters (VL-7/96) instead. Not recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (J. Cichewicz)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
