Everything you ever wanted to know about Little League baseball...and more. In this thorough guide to the game, parents, coaches, and children learn how to play by the rules. Divided into nine chapters (which are identified by numbers in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, for easy access), the tape begins with a few general rules (such as the difference between a live and dead ball), and then moves on to specific areas: fielder, pitcher, catcher, batting positions, base runner, base coach, umpires, and managers and coaches. Liberal use of slow-motion and close-up photography together with overlaid computer graphics make the information both easy and fun to digest. Plus, the arrangement lends itself to sectional viewing; a pitcher, for instance, may go straight to the rules for pitchers, a catcher to the rules for catchers, and so on. A selection for the ALA-Carnegie Grant Project book Video For Libraries, this tape is highly recommended. (Available from: Village Productions Inc., P.O. Box 6558, Houston, TX 77265-4484.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
