These three programs are all nicely produced, information-packed guides for the homeowner, from the company that has delivered so many how-to tips and techniques in the pages of both BH & G magazine and the numerous book compilations. Making Your Kitchen Store More features some 60 different small projects and/or quick tips which will allow viewers to effectively exploit every last inch of space available in the kitchen. Preparing Your Home To Sell features two hosts, one overseeing a "summer" home and the other a "winter" home. Together, these two hosts instruct viewers in the basics of curb appeal, as well as offer detailed guidance preparing each of the rooms in the house for sale, according to its special needs. There's a plug for BH & G's real estate arm, but its not terribly intrusive-and viewers are also advised to look elsewhere for more information. The last program, Refinishing Furniture is an amiable overview of how to clean, strip, and refinish furniture - in this case, a rocker. Using good close-ups and excellent oncamera and voiceover narration, the program features extensive advice on the different types of commercial products available in the marketplace, the relative strengths and weaknesses of various stains and finishes, and a handful of good tips for making minor repairs on furniture. (Refinishing Furniture also just won an award at the American Video Conference.) All three programs are highly recommended.
