Offering practical information for new mothers who want to breastfeed while continuing to work, this instructional program features expectant and new mothers, who are seen talking to employers and caregivers, breastfeeding their babies, and pumping and storing breast milk at work. Serving up plenty of tips and lists, Breastfeeding for Working Mothers counsels viewers on a wide variety of related topics, including important questions to ask employers, purchasing breast pumps, establishing a pumping/feeding schedule of combined bottle and breast feedings, suggested supplies to have on hand when returning to work, and preparing caregivers for bottle feeding of expressed milk (the section on pumping at work also includes practical guidance on using pumps and specifics on storing milk for later consumption). Women are encouraged to communicate with employers and select suitable spaces in the workplace for breast pumping, although the program also notes that some women may want to adjust their work schedules—cutting back on hours, or working from home—or might prefer to pump milk in their parked cars while at work. Highly recommended. Aud: C, P. (M. Puffer-Rothenberg)
