Back in the 1960s, amphetamines were a standard part of the drug scene. Today's super amphetamines, also called "methamphetamines" or "crank," make those pills look like child's play. Made in unsupervised labs, using uncontrolled chemicals, and posing severe environmental hazards, "crank" is one of the most dangerous drugs in the world. Crank causes lasting side effects in its users, including paranoia and sometimes strokes and paralysis, and can also make people extremely violent, delusional and dangerous. Fumes from the manufacturing of crank are highly explosive and cause cancer. In short, this is not fun stuff. But, as the program points out, because young people feel invincible, this is one of the fastest growing drugs in use today. This important video features the testimony of police, physicians and users themselves to convince parents and teenagers alike to avoid crank. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (R. Ray)
