Excellent information, wrong format. Our hosts, Nancy and Kerry Pierce, promise us with complete sincerity that with just a little work, we can follow their example and sell a house in half the time and save big $$$. Breaking it down into eight sections titled with chapter stops, the ultra-organized Pierces proceed to dazzle us with charts, graphs, lists, tips, examples and re-enactments. There is almost too much given here. As the tape moved through determining the price, sprucing up the house, advertising, showing and selling, negotiating and closing the deal, title escrow and inspections, the math became more critical and the legwork more crucial especially during the last segments, in which a real estate attorney might be needed. Instead of convincing a seller to try it himself, this tape would leave the viewer begging at the realtor's door. The production values are professional, and the information is timely and thorough. But the tape would have been improved dramatically if it had been accompanied by a booklet, where one could refer to the forms and charts as needed, instead of watching them blink on and off the screen. Still, this is recommended for public libraries as an adjunct to the book collection. A much simpler approach is offered in Sell It Yourself! (VL-1/94) (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
