Although there is a lot to be said for listing your property with a real estate agency and letting them do most of the leg work, one of the main reasons for following the advice in this video is the financial savings that will be realized. If you listen to what the hosts have to say about being your own agent, you could very easily save thousands of dollars on the sale of your home. Fred Nash and Tara Winston present the five steps involved in selling your home yourself: preparing your home, pricing, marketing, negotiating the purchase offer, and closing the deal. Although the face-to-face business of haggling over sale price is something many home owners are uncomfortable with, the video producers are honest enough to recommend experts for this stage. The video would have been more interesting if less screen time had been given to the constantly grinning and smiling hosts and more time devoted to an on-site demonstration of what they were saying (such as showing how a home could be fixed up both inside and out, rather than showing Nash and Winston discussing it). Apart from that, this is a well-done video that presents valuable information, and the volatility of the real estate market in many parts of the country guarantees frequent circulation. Aud: P. (J.
