Linda Labrador hosts this simple program which is as much a lesson in how to take pictures as how to take pictures of children. Novices will be glad to see that Labrador doesn't use high tech cameras in her demonstrations, but mainly employs point and shoot auto-everythings in the video. She relates the basics of photography, explains different kinds of cameras and then sets up a baby shot, a first communion and an outdoor study of young children. Amongst the advice given is that the photographer should never tell children to smile; instead, ask if they have a boyfriend or girlfriend, then get the reaction shot. A sincere and simple tape geared for the real camera-phobe or complete novice, this is recommended. Aud: P. (R. Ray)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
