Ah, the venerable institution of the school science fair! While mixing baking soda and vinegar might produce impressive visual results, it's not going to score very high without the proper context, and this comprehensive video provides clear, practical guidance which will help any middle or high school student create a successful presentation. Using a student's real project (which is rather impressive, and hopefully not too intimidating) as a sample, the program looks at advance planning, topical data gathering and organization, carrying out experiments, and even how to impress the judges. The video quiz at the end is a bit redundant (it's also on the blackline masters), and I was disappointed with the lack of instruction regarding Internet usage; however, this video is a lifesaver for any science teacher who needs to motivate a classroom full of students to undertake a multi-week endeavor. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
