Written by Tom Washington, the nationally-recognized author of The Hunt and Resume Power, this video will give viewers the skills, practice and confidence to interview well and get the job they want. Twelve logically presented segments discuss topics such as the importance of first impressions, controlling the interview, researching the organization, projecting enthusiasm, asking questions, active listening, and selling your skills and accomplishments through the use of stories and examples. Information is presented using dramatizations, graphics and titling interlaced with cogent on-screen comments by employment officers from Microsoft, Boeing and US West. The facial expressions and acting in some of the dramatizations are overblown, but, overall, they illustrate concepts well. The pacing moves along at a rapid rate, with summary graphics at the end of each topic. Recommended for public libraries and college business classes. (J. Scholtz)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
