Lightyear has been releasing the how-to series of classic workout and fitness videos starring Jane Fonda, made throughout the decade of the 1980s. Movie-trivia detectives might hazard a guess that the blonde hair highlights sported by Fonda here might have had something to do with her concurrent movie-starring role as a washed-up Hollywood starlet in the thriller The Morning After. Fonda leads what is described as a "low impact" workout for a little less than an hour.
While not as intensive as the regimens in earlier Fonda exercise titles, it may still be found daunting by fitness beginners. There is an emphasis on upright dance-style workouts (at one point becoming a lengthy country-music line-dance style routine) that comprise about seven intervals of cardio-aerobic movement, bookended by warm-up stretches and cooldowns. For a more intense version, the video suggests real exercise buffs utilize small hand weights with these.
In contrast to the old analog VHS of yesteryear, the digital-disc format features sub-menu lists that helpfully take the home-workout enthusiast directly to workout intervals of special interest. Recommended as a collections standard, but just be aware that what represents "low impact" for one viewer/user may be an appreciably more exhaustive thing for another. (Aud: J, H, C, P)
