Well, the title of this brief but intensive, the no-nonsense instructional video says it all. In fact, there might be too much information packed into this lesson for a viewer to retain in one sitting, so multiple visits are likely. That’s okay: while the material goes by rapidly and there’s no fluff or downtime, the instructor is friendly and the visual presentation is lively if simple. The video begins with an introduction to the alphabet and the names and sounds of letters. Next, letters are divided into groups of vowels and consonants. Then comes personal pronouns and variations on the verb “to be” (“I am,” “you are,” etc.), and then the negative version of that (“I am not,” “he is not”). There’s still more to go in this program, and while all this information can feel overwhelming the first time around, a student can easily catch up. Strongly recommended. Three stars. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
