Noted sculptor and college teacher Milt Liebson provides step-by-step, on-camera instruction in the basics of stone sculpture. He begins, in sequential fashion, by describing the stone selection process, shows the various tools and their use, and proceeds to sculpt a figure out of alabaster while demonstrating the combined use of both power tools (flexible shaft machine, angle grinder, power drill and drill press) and handtools, while passing along some excellent tips. Safety equipment and techniques are discussed, as are the finishing techniques, including adhesives, polishing and buffing. It is obvious that Liebson loves his art and loves to teach it; the instruction is clearly, concisely and expertly delivered with excellent video footage and close-ups. This is simply the best how-to video on sculpture that I have seen to date. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. (J. Scholtz)

This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
