Culled from the popular television program, Sewing With Nancy, this "combo" tape combines two complete programs on one video. In the first part of the program, June Tailor joins host Nancy Zieman, as they demonstrate pressing techniques for darts, seams, collars, and cuffs. Working from the idea that a "garment should look as good on the inside as it does on the outside", Nancy goes on to explore new ways to set in sleeves, facings, and zippers. The second half of the tape focuses on buttonholes and pockets. Though intended to help novices and experienced seamstresses alike, this program on the "basics" requires considerable knowledge of the subject. Viewers are expected to know what "facings", "darts", and "seam allowances" are before they watch this tape. There are over twenty other titles in the series, including one called Begin to Sew. Libraries may want to begin with this title. Recommended. (See STEP AWAY FROM WAR, A for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
