According to this program, each year in America thousands of crime victims with disabilities never receive the counseling or support services they need, for reasons ranging from ignorance or stereotypical thinking on the part of counselors and law enforcement officials to local police stations that are not accessible to the handicapped. Regardless of the reasons, the end result is that crime victims with disabilities are often unable to take advantage of some of the follow-up relief services provided by the criminal justice system. Designed to educate counselors and advocates for crime victims, The Time Is Now debunks stereotypes surrounding the disabled, and offers practical guidelines for helping victims of crime. However, given the fact that the program is aimed at a more professional audience--law enforcement officials, crime victim advocates, and social workers--this is an optional purchase, at best, for general public or academic collections. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
