This inexpensive travel video begins with a brief overview of planning a trip to Greece, and then moves on to specific locales that the traveler might wish to sample. Beginning with Athens, the cradle of western civilization, viewers are shown some of the more ancient sights, such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon, as well as a few of the more modern: a dance theatre, the night life. In addition to the city tours, selected tours originating from Athens are covered (including Delphi, Corinth, Mycenae, and Olympia), and a number of cruises to popular Greek islands (such as Crete and Rhodes). The program ends with the obligatory roll call of hotels, cruise ships, and yachts which consumers can contact. Shot on video, the color is not up to snuff with top productions, but it is passable. The information is good (although one can question the point of including a couple of titillating shots of a model parading in a diaphanous gown), and the price is right. Recommended for libraries with large travel collections. (Available from: Visiontravel, 2132 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06903.)
