This upbeat video is hosted by motivational speaker Clyde Yoder, who encourages disabled and special needs people to get off their couches, end their isolation, and "get out there" in their communities. The camera follows Clyde around his small Ohio town as he greets friends and takes advantage of the many opportunities his community provides. Yoder recommends special needs people consider volunteer work at churches, animal shelters, schools, local theater groups and yes, libraries. Group sports and the local "Y" are also a great way to meet new friends. The emphasis here is on independence and the sharing of skills. The video provides two versions. One is closed captioned for the hearing impaired; the other is open captioned with audio descriptors. A resource guide is provided and referred to in the video. Technically, the video is not of the best quality, but Yoder's infectious enthusiasm is clearly communicated. Recommended. (S. Rees)

All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
