Brazilian performer Antonio Rocha is featured in this four-story presentation inspired by his experiences with the Kenya Connect cross-cultural program in Africa. Rocha, a skilled mime who has studied with masters Marcel Marceau and Tony Montanaro, delivers his fun and interactive stories before a captivated elementary-school-aged audience, including “Chicken and Crocodile” (which teaches the lesson that we are all brothers and sisters), “Musa's Son” (about bravery and love), “The Proud Iguana” (following a clever ruby-eyed reptile's resistance to becoming a chief's pet), and “The Lion's Whiskers” (the tale of a barren woman who strives to win the love of her odious new stepson). DVD extras include a bonus performance (“Turbulence,” which follows the journey of a paranoid air traveler) and an instructional segment on mime technique. Recommended. Aud: E, P. (J. Williams-Wood)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
