When your child can't sit still in school, make friends, or follow instructions, those ADD initials inevitably float through your mind. Whether it's increased awareness or a popular catch-all, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) diagnoses are on the rise. Although the causes of ADD and ADHD are presently unknown, this program offers some theories on the conditions, as well as a look at symptoms and several suggested therapies (both traditional and holistic). Treatments and topics covered include: chiropractic alignments, drugs, allergies and toxicity in processed foods, craniosacral therapy, sensory/motor development exercises, and psychological considerations. Interesting, informative, and well made--despite the preponderance of talking heads--this is a fine resource for parents looking for both specific suggestions and a general overview of ADD/ADHD. A good, inexpensive contemporary supplement or replacement for older titles (such as What Every Parent Should Know About A.D.D. [VL-9/96] and Why Can't Bobby Pay Attention: Issue and Answers in Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder [VL-3/96]), this is recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
