Lisa Laman is is a lifelong movie fan, writer, and Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic located both on the autism spectrum and in Texas. Given that her first word was "Disney", Lisa Laman was "doomed" from the start to be a film geek! Critic's Choice Association member Lisa Laman has cultivated a passion for all kinds of cinema, which she hopes is reflected across the eclectic array of pieces she's written for a multitude of different websites. In addition to her Features writing for Collider, her byline has been seen in outlets like Polygon, The Mary Sue, Fangoria, The Spool, and ScarleTeen. She has also presented original essays related to the world of cinema at multiple academic conferences, been a featured guest on a BBC podcast, and interviewed artists ranging from Anna Kerrigan to Mark Wahlberg. Lisa Laman has also attended multiple film festivals, including the October 2023 edition of the Austin Film Festival. She is also a former student at the University of Texas at Dallas where she procured a Master's Degree in Arts & Humanities with a concentration in Film Studies and is a member of the Critics Choice Association.
