DeepFocus Productions, Inc. was established in 1982 by filmmaker Arthur Dong to drive the distribution of his Oscar© nominated film "Sewing Woman." It has since expanded to develop, produce and distribute the entire spectrum of Dong's work, including films, publications, and exhibitions. The company's pioneering work, starting from handling 16mm film and branching out to print, video, digital, web and cyber-based formats, has been chronicled in the publications "Independent Film Distribution", "The Documentary in Action", and "The AIVF Film and Video Self-Distribution Toolkit." Arthur is profiled in the books "Screening Reality: How Documentary Filmmakers Reimagined America"; "Chinese Americans: The History and Culture of a People"; "Travels in a Gay Nation: Portraits of LGBTQ Americans"; and "The Views from Here: Conversations with Gay and Lesbian Filmmakers."
