Joe Gantz of View Film is an Emmy winning filmmaker and producer.
His film AMERICAN WINTER (2013), was broadcasted on HBO and nominated for an Emmy. AMERICAN WINTER had successful screenings in over 100 cities and brought attention to the rising poverty, homelessness and food insecurity in the United States. Four subjects from American Winter testified at a U.S. Senate hearing entitled, "The State of the American Dream – Economic Policy and the Future of the Middle Class", moderated by Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jeff Merkley.
Joe also produced THE RACE TO SAVE THE WORLD. This feature documentary follows the passion, determination and unwavering commitment of ordinary people who are devoting their lives to fighting climate change. The subjects in this film aren't putting their heads in the sand, they aren't waiting for someone else to do something, they’re in the trenches doing anything and everything they can to try to turn this around. These committed activists are of every age and background, and all of them are modern day Don Quixotes, determined to do whatever it takes to help save this planet for future generations.
His third film, MEDICAL REVOLUTION IN PROGRESS, is a documentary on stem cell research that will introduce a wide audience to the impact that these game changing treatments will have on families dealing with previously incurable diseases. The personal stories of scientists in the midst of this inspiring research, together with their patients who hope to benefit from these remarkable therapies, will show how through the innovative and forward thinking structure of CIRM, California's noble experiment is helping to transform the future of medicine.
