Six separate short videos aimed at children combine color pencil drawings with voice-over narration about dinosaurs, the mysterious disappearance of the Anasazi tribe, a railway journey circa 1895, the flora and fauna in Rocky Mt. National Park, Pike's Peak, and Colorado's legendary ski slopes. While the music is catchy, the drawings skillfully done, and the stories educational (the info about the owl's "barf balls" would grab most kids' attention, I suspect), these are just not slick enough to really appeal to children. Too, the regional nature of the program lessens its appeal. Not a necessary purchase. (Available from: Mountain Automation Corporation, P.O. Box 6020, Woodland Park, CO 80866-6020; (800) 877-9238.)
