In 1986, while working at the Kitsap Regional Library in Bremerton, WA, Randy Pitman launched Video Librarian, a review source for libraries, serving as the editor for the duration of its 34-year print run. He has also been a columnist for Library Journal and Wilson Library Bulletin, written numerous articles and essays, and is the author of books including Video Movies: A Core Collection for Libraries and The Video Librarian’s Guide to Collection Development and management. He enjoys semi-retired life in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Anne, and their Goldendoodles Harper and Luna.
