Singer and guitar player James Durst performs 25 traditional songs and nursery rhymes in this nicely done video which also features a handful of clever special effects. Sometimes strolling through the fields, and sometimes superimposed over a moving backdrop, Durst sings several children's classics, including: "Hokey Pokey," "Muffin Man." "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "Old MacDonald," "Skip to My Lou," "Row, Row, Row," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and many others. Although Durst is not as energetic a performer as most artists singing to a young audience, he is an accomplished singer/guitarist, and his quiet demeanor is somewhat offset by the video effects in the program. A good inexpensive sing-along for youngsters. Recommended. (See BIG RIGS: CLOSE UP AND VERY PERSONAL for availability.)
