A group of kids watch a magic show, a juggler, a pair of clowns, and run with animals in the park, while selections from classical works by Bach, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, and Strauss, and Bizet play on the soundtrack. The idea is to introduce the link between "fun" and classical music, but the execution looks an awful lot like any number of relatively low-budget children's videos shot in a park. Overall, the program is often cute and entertaining, but Peter and the Wolf (VL-8/91) serves as a much better introduction to classical music for kids. An optional purchase. (R. Pitman)
