Funny is, of course, a relative term. Banana Zoo: Funny Fellows features a cheaply animated monkey named Banana and a set of flea market marionettes that laugh at filmed segments of camels, aardvarks, hippos, and turkeys, among others. I'm not sure what makes these animals particularly funny; maybe you have to be a kid or an artificial life form to get it. There were, however, some redeeming factoids floating in this mishmash in the form of little quizzes and pretend news breaks, and the tape did feature one good joke (a mandrill named Barbara--which I got, but kids probably won't), otherwise there's not much outstanding or awful about any of it. Acceptable work, and inexpensive enough, but not a necessary purchase. Other titles in the series include: Endangered Species, Predators and Animal Songs. (E. Druda)
