The San Diego Zoo is the setting for this lively winner of 6 international film awards. Combining the playful music of Camille Saint-Saens with the whimsical poetry of Ogden Nash, young viewers are treated to live action and animated visits with the lion, the rooster, the jackass, the turtle, the elephant, the kangaroo, the mule, and the cuckoo, as well as other birds, fishes, and fossils. Ex-M*A*S*H* star Gary (Radar) Burghoff is the amiable host of this zoological treat, with Saint-Saens score performed by the Mormon Youth Symphony. Worth the price of the tape alone, is one particularly memorable scene with a jammin' elephant that makes John Travolta look like the owner of two left feet. Highly recommended for both school and public libraries.
