Elroy's Toy

From Jan C. Nickman (whose Natural States and Canyon Dreams set the standards for nature music videos nearly a decade ago), Elroy's Toy is a bit of a disappointment--basically another compilation of unrelated computer-animated bits, and we're starting to see the same sequences showing up again and again. Ditto for Nickman's Third Stone From the Sun **1/2 ($19.98), an older theatrical-length video that combines outstanding cinematography with a mystical voice-over narration. Most just won't sit still for a 90-minute nature film with occasional eco-friendly commentary. (Available from major distributors). (R. Pitman)
