Initially released in 1985 on children's recording artist Tim Noah's "Noazart" video label, this multiple award-winning children's program is now being re-released into the mass market. As "Tim," Noah portrays a young boy with a fertile imagination. In his bedroom--the setting for all except one of the songs--Tim converses with the voice of his imagination, which assigns him the task of searching for the "Wow...Woo!" But, as is often the case, the young boy's mind wanders, and he reflects on what a nice life Tarzan must have: "I want to do just as I please/Build my house up in the trees/And raise myself a family/Of monkeys..." While puppet monkeys and giraffes cavort around the huge tree and foliage which suddenly adorns Tim's room, he sings while sporting his Tarzan suit, a headband, and his characteristic two different sneakers. In one of the funniest segments, Tim sings a song about a common problem with young boys: while pushing at a huge set of sneakers attached to legs taller than his room, Tim sings: "Teacher...can't you see?/That big booger's picking on me." Noah's art succeeds because he's able to see things from a child's point of view: on a song about being blue, for instance, he says: "Tears on my nose/Trickle down to my toes," and observes that while that tickles, it still hurts. A wonderful paean to the imagination, this tape has been a favorite in our household for years, and is highly recommended. (Available from most distributors.)
