Jobz 4 Dogz: Police K-9

This high-energy, fast-paced production looks at the jobs performed by police dogs--from catching criminals to protecting their human partners and other folk. Host Keith Adams is a natural cut-up…teasing a dog one minute and finding himself on the business end of the dog's “criminal-catching” job the next during his visits with a number of real-life police dogs (mostly German Shepherds) and their police officer trainers. Young viewers will see several stages of training, ranging from the basics (such as teaching the pooch to find a toy buried under some leaves) to the advanced (including a very aggressive and precise criminal apprehension move, appropriately called a “takedown”). It's not all work, however: some of the luckier animals receive “spa time,” which includes a full body massage, the relaxing sounds of the ocean, and…aromatherapy! I'm thinking about a career change.
