The clever people at Children's Television Workshop have pulled together a group of food tunes, originally produced for episodes of Sesame Street, and built them into an encounter between Grover and his favorite blue restaurant customer. Normally when we encounter Grover in his waiter mode he's working at Charlie's Restaurant. But for this occasion we find him on the wait staff of Planet Storybook. When Grover's favorite customer from Charlie's shows up at Planet Storybook, Grover jumps at the chance to introduce a variety of healthy foods to this picky eater via a musical food trip. High points include an awesome version of "Cereal Girl" (a takeoff on Madonna's "Material Girl") and Cookie Monster in a Run DMC mode, laying down a hip-hopped "Healthy Food" rap that is too funny. Word up! Whether the topic is "Pasta" or "Telly's Lunch," every musical number is upbeat and so is the message. The CTW crew knows how to get an idea across to kids with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of fun. Delicious video. Highly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (P. Van Vleck)
