While I've never met a kid (or an adult) who doesn't love music, my own family disputes the "everyone is born with an innate sense of rhythm" theory while eyeing me pointedly. In this children's introduction to rhythm instruments, cute preschoolers shake/thump/rap tambourines, drums and sticks to songs such as "Old MacDonald," "Bingo," and "Skip to My Loo." Unfortunately, these particular little music-makers can only be seen but really not heard, thanks to the awkward and obvious lip-synched voice-over. Other than short quips between songs ("We're having so much fun!"), no attempt is made to engage the audience, and it wasn't long before I was thinking of more interesting things to do--such as clipping my toenails. Given the lack of involvement, I couldn't help but think an audiotape would have served the purpose here just as well. Not recommended. Aud: P. (T. Shannon)
