"Stop loving this evil world...this world is fading away." A little strong, even for the religious-minded McGee & Me series, but the message is liable to get lost in the mess, anyway, since McGee TV: Out of Control consists of a very loosely connected group of animated bits from the ordinarily exceptional live action/animation McGee & Me series. The skits range from the fleshed out story of the good Samaritan to lame excerpts from the "Snide World of Sports." Throughout, it's almost all McGee, and fans of the series know that what makes McGee & Me a really good program in the first place (see McGee & Me: Twas the Fight Before Christmas [VL-3/92]) is the interaction between the boy Nick and his animated sidekick McGee. Without a coherent story to fall back on, McGee TV: Out of Control is far less enjoyable than the regular television fare it labors to lampoon. Not recommended. Ages 4-9. (R. Pitman)
