One of the problems of rote sign language instruction videos is that watching someone sign to 100 is about as entertaining as reading software documentation (can I get a double order of Sominex on rye, here? Thank you very much.) But Say, Sing & Sign: Numbers takes a different tack and is better for it. Here, instructor Lee Tierney shows young viewers how to count to five, followed by an illustrative song called "One Little Bird" which reinforces the number learning and adds a handful of other words to the child's repertoire. In this fashion, segueing back and forth from number instruction to songs, Tierney teaches numbers from 1-100 and viewers enjoy signing songs like "The Number Song" and "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" (the lyrics of which are humorously and literally demonstrated by an assistant). Other titles in the inexpensive Say, Sing & Sing series include: ABC, Colors and Songs. Recommended. Aud: E, P. (R. Pitman)
