Here's the significant fact: Evan C. Ricks and Alan Jacobs' computer animated effort lays claim to being the "first ever 3D animated motion capture feature." Resembling nothing so much as a fleshed-out Sony Playstation game, Sinbad features the voice talents of Jennifer Hale, a princess who, after her father is spellbound by an evil sorcerer (Leonard Nimoy), journeys with Sinbad (Brandon Fraser) beyond the veil of mists in search of an antidote. Neither in the same league as the Toy Story adventures, nor--if the trailer is any indication--the upcoming release of Shrek, this curiosity also sports one other interesting detail: in addition to Nimoy, the voice cast features Mark Hamill, making this the first pairing of the Star Trek and Star Wars stars before their upcoming Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Very optional. (R. Pitman)
