Forget Babe. Here's Babies, which features a bunch of cute little babies with digitally rearranged mouths belting out 17 nursery rhymes--including staples from "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" to "Rock-a-bye Baby"--surrounded by brightly colored animals and toys on vibrant sets. What's not to like? Well…watching these preternaturally still babies (seen in 2-3 second video loops, over and over and over), I kind of felt like I was seeing the promo for Village of the Damned: The Toddler Years. (I asked my wife, Anne, for a second opinion, and she thought it was initially charming--just like I did for the first half-minute--before pronouncing the program "creepy.") If the thought of digitally manipulating baby faces doesn't give you the shivers, however, then I can honestly say that all other aspects of the production are top drawer. Optional. Aud: P. (R.
