This may be called a movie, but in typical series-oriented product, "Star Street" belies its little screen origins by having-TV style-no resolution to its story. In this cutesy cartoon, the "Star Kids", each named for a sign of the zodiac live on a star-shaped planet that is periodically threatened from afar by Momo the Glutton, and his band of evil drones, the Blub Blubs. More than usual attention to character and quite infectious soundtrack music raise this entry above similar fare. But the singleminded storyline (fight off Momo) though fleshed-out with a few interesting diversions (a story about a giant orphan named Goombah, etc.) - is never brought to a satisfying conclusion. Momo wants to eat Star Kids, because that's what the plot requires. Momo will never be effectively shut down, because that also mean the end of the series. To be honest, Star Street is really kind of fun (and quite slick), but its limited story value makes it an optional purchase, at best. (Available from most distributors.)
