Did you know that Adam & Eve were originally created equal in all departments, including the biceps? Storyteller Diane Ferlatte humorously tells us how Adam wrangled more strength out of God and what Eve did to get even in the wonderful tale of "The Keys to the Kingdom," one of six pieces in this excellent storytelling compilation. Performed live in Jonesboro, Tennessee at the 20th Anniversary of the National Storytelling Festival, the program includes the marvelous fairy tale "The Lindworm," told by Milbre Burch; the humorous poem "The Cat-astrophe," performed by cowboy poet Waddie Mitchell; a funny anecdote about "The Pope in New York City," related by Michael Parent; the instructive fable "The Wise Shoemaker of Studena" (which teaches that clothes do not make the man) told by Syd Lieberman and "Fool's Bells," a moving story told by a master of the art, Jay O'Callohan. Two other volumes are also available in the series. Considering that good storytelling videos, featuring the caliber of artists seen here, run generally in the $50-$100 range, the Tell Me a Story series, at $19.95 each, is a real bargain. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. Aud: K, E, I, P. (R. Pitman)
