Welcome to Veggieville: a happy, health-conscious world full of stories, rhymes, songs and big-headed puppets, all introduced by the smiling Story Lady, who tells tales with the aid of simple, brightly colored animation. Children aged 2 and up will learn about bicycle safety with Broccoli Bill, good nutrition with Lunchbox Larry, and some lessons in friendship at Spinach Sue's surprise party. The program offers a nice mix of fun and music along with the morals in each story, and should keep kids at least moderately amused for half an hour while Mom cooks dinner (or prepares that healthy snack!) One unwelcome surprise at the end: an advertisement for a fan club that costs $5 to join. Recommended, overall. Aud: P. (E. Druda)
