This is a marvelous adaptation of Beverly Cleary's renowned young people's novel of the same name. A vacationing family gets more excitement than they bargained for, when their young son strikes up a friendship with Ralph the Mouse. Blending live action with dimensional animation the filmmakers have created a very convincing mouse that is sure to win over kid's hearts. When the boy becomes ill, it's Ralph Mouse on the boy's motorcycle that comes to the rescue. Winner of a Peabody Award, the film also features standout cameos by Ray Walston and John Byner. Highly recommended for larger public libraries and elementary schools. (Available from: Churchill Films, 662 North Robertson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90069-9970.
