Boasting over 20 holiday songs, Disney's Very Merry Christmas Sing Along Songs on DVD adds 10 new tunes--and a bit of confusion, since the original version was full of old (and mostly wonderful) pieces, while the new stuff (looking much spiffier) draws from more recent Disney fare featuring Winnie the Pooh and Goofy. In true sing along fashion, each of the tunes--sung by classic crooners such as Bing Crosby or various Disney characters--includes colorful onscreen lyrics, and while the accompanying footage doesn't always completely jibe with the songs (where's the connection between the naked dancing fairies of Fantasia and "Joy to the World"?), nostalgic boomers are sure to appreciate fondly remembered sequences of Donald Duck as Dickens' Scrooge, Chip and Dale running around a Christmas tree, or Max Fleischer's beautifully drawn "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," while youngsters will enjoy the more recent additions. DVD extras include a "Words of the Season" vocabulary game, "Very Merry Musical" game, and a cute, interactive "Create-a-Card" holiday card activity. Recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
