O.k. let's see a show of hands. How many people fell for the two-page four color advertising spread on this video and pre-ordered it? Well, you guys kissed ninety bucks goodbye. Attempting to cash in on the success of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, this miserable disaster is the low-budget, no-brain, story of a lab assistant named Norman who, along with a pair of knuckleheads are transported back to the Roman Empire for one of the most uninspired "adventure"s ever committed to film. One suspects that the film's title was chosen very late in the game, since the words "awesome", "adventure", or even "excellent", "dudes", or "rad", are never spoken in the movie. In fact, it's impossible to determine when the film was even made--but it has nothing whatsoever to do with modern teens. Definitely not recommended dudes. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
